What is Progressive Cavity Pump?
Progressive cavity pump is a positive displacement pump whose main components are the helical rotor and elastomer stator. As the rotor rotates eccentrically inside the stator, it seals tightly against the stator and forms a sequence of cavities in between which move towards the discharge port, continuously transferring the fluid with constant flow rate. The pumped content does not change in shape between the rotor and stator, and is conveyed with minimal pulsation. Therefore progressive cavity pumps are suitable for the conveyance of viscous, erosive or shear-sensitive materials.
